United States Champion Roman Reigns def. Rusev (Hell in a Cell Match)

If Roman Reigns has proved anything over the course of 2016, it is, undoubtedly, that he’s resilient.

And that resilience was never more on display than in this defense of his United States Championship against Rusev inside the dreaded confines of Hell in a Cell.

The two warriors, who had been locked in a ferocious battle for months now, did not hold back inside the structure that has taken years off so many careers.

The clash was high-octane and back-and-forth, with Rusev taking control in the early goings.

Reigns’ previous experience inside the Cell clearly began to give him a distinct advantage over Rusev, however, as The Big Dog found ways to use both the cage and his overall surroundings as a weapon and an offensive advantage.

Yet, The Bulgarian Brute rallied back with force, taking over the contest and wearing Reigns down with a barrage of impactful strikes and ground-and-pound.

Rusev then took it one step further, introducing the steel steps as a primary weapon and ambushing The Guy with them.

Reigns soon fought back, smashing a Kendo stick over Rusev’s back, but that ultimately backfired, as Rusev tied him in the ropes and absolutely unloaded on him with the same weapon.

After a brief rally by Reigns, Rusev again took over, now introducing a steel chain to the proceedings, mercilessly whipping Reigns with it before again lambasting him on the steps.

In an incredible scene, Rusev reapplied the Accolade on those same steel steps, muzzling The Big Dog with the chain.

But Reigns, in typical fashion, powered out, first hitting Rusev with a nasty Samoan Drop onto the steps and then finishing the Brute off with a leaping Spear that had Rusev fly straight off the steps to the mat below.

Hellish, no doubt.

WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens def. Seth Rollins (Hell in a Cell Match)

BOSTON — The Kevin Owens Show has survived its one-off episode in Hell to roll on for at least another night, as the WWE Universal Championship both arrived and left Boston in the clutches of The Prizefighter, while Seth Rollins was left empty-handed yet again.

Though, to be entirely fair, the third-act twist wasn’t entirely due to the merits of The KO Show’s namesake, as a most unexpected guest star crashed the Cell.

In case you couldn’t guess, that was Chris Jericho, who made his presence felt after Rollins gritted and grounded his way into position to win the match.

That in and of itself was a miracle after KO snuffed out Rollins’ early showing by targeting The Architect’s back, ripping off Rollins’ Kinesio tape before savaging him all across the cage.

Rollins was able to keep himself in the fight, but when Owens accidentally blasted one of the officials in the face with a fire extinguisher, Jericho took advantage of the briefly open Cell door to lock himself inside and pocket the key.

Rollins quickly dispatched Jericho by sending him crashing into the Cell wall, but the mere presence of The Ayatollah of Rock ’n’ Rolla left him at an insurmountable disadvantage.

Even though he was able to power through his brutalized back to powerbomb Owens through a pair of tables, he couldn’t stop Jericho from hauling the ref away before the pinfall could be counted.

And, although he was able to briefly chase Jericho down, he wasn’t able to stop Jeri-KO from ultimately uniting and bringing two steel chairs into the match.

And once Owens powerbombed him through those two chairs with Jericho watching on, Rollins wasn’t able to do much of anything.
