Apollo Crews, American Alpha & The Hype Bros def. Curt Hawkins, The Vaudevillains & The Ascension

DALLAS — The Kickoff Match at WWE TLC 2016 certainly got the crowd at the American Airlines Center hyped, as The Hype Bros, American Alpha & Apollo Crews bested Curt Hawkins, The Ascension & The Vaudevillains in a wild 10-man tag team throwdown.

After an exchange with Crews, the WWE Universe was nearly treated to a head-on collision between former WWE Tag Team Champions Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, but the latter evaded Long Island Iced Z.

It didn’t take long for the bout to break down into a chaotic fray, as all 10 Superstars took turns hurling each other to the arena floor before squaring off in the center of the ring.

When the dust settled, The Ascension, The Vaudevillains & Hawkins had Chad Gable trapped in their half of the ring.
The Olympian took the brunt of the beating from all five of his opponents, but persevered and tagged in Jason Jordan.

At the climax of another Pier Six brawl, American Alpha emerged with the upper hand and connected with Grand Amplitude on Simon Gotch, getting the three-count and kicking off WWE TLC off impressive fashion!

Randy Orton & Bray Wyatt def. SmackDown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater & Rhyno

DALLAS — Heath Slater & Rhyno winning a tournament to become WWE Tag Team Champions earlier this fall was one of the most feel-good moments of 2016.
Unfortunately, The New Wyatt Family isn’t really into the whole “feel-good” thing.

At WWE TLC, Randy Orton & Bray Wyatt defeated “Beauty & The Man Beast” to capture Team Blue’s tandem titles, bringing the Wyatt clan ever closer to total dominance of SmackDown LIVE.

Despite the unmatched physical prowess of Rhyno and the never-say-quit attitude of Slater, the fighting champions just couldn’t repel the combined ferocity of The Eater of Worlds and the latest – and perhaps most lethal – member of his family, WWE’s Apex Predator.

After Luke Harper sacrificed himself by absorbing a Gore meant for Orton, Wyatt distracted The Man Beast long enough for The Viper to subdue the ECW Original with a well-timed RKO.

Undeniably united in the aftermath of this decisive victory, The New Wyatt Family now looks to usher in a new era of darkness not only in SmackDown LIVE’s Tag Team division, but Team Blue as a whole.

Nikki Bella def. Carmella (No Disqualification Match)

DALLAS — The battle was punishing, but Nikki Bella remained ”Fearless” in the face of her No Disqualification Match with Carmella, earning the victory at WWE TLC after connecting with the Rack Attack 2.0.

However, in the aftermath of their battle, The Princess of Staten Island revealed that the Superstar responsible for attacking Nikki at Survivor Series wasn’t whom she expected.

Still bearing a big bruise around her right eye from Nikki’s attack this past Tuesday on SmackDown Live, Carmella wasted no time in ensuring Bella would have a few welts of her own, sending her rival knee-first into the steel ring steps.

The Princess of Staten Island focused her assault on the injured leg, including smashing it with a kendo stick.
She nearly had the victory wrapped up with the Code of Silence, but she left the kendo stick within Nikki’s grasp, allowing Bella to grab it and clobber “Princess Mella” with the weapon.

The battle spilled to ringside, where Nikki took to the air, diving off the ringside barricade to clock Carmella with a brutal spinning kick.

And when Carmella looked to be getting back into the fight, Bella surprised The Princess of Staten Island with a fire extinguisher, spraying Carmella around the squared circle before hitting the Rack Attack 2.0 to win this No Disqualification brawl.

However, Carmella was not about to let Nikki celebrate.
She picked up a mic and revealed that she wasn’t behind the blindside attack Bella suffered at Survivor Series, claiming that the assault was the work of Nikki’s “Total Divas” co-star, Natalya.

Earlier in the evening, the third-generation Superstar posted a tweet wishing Nikki good luck, along with a photo of the two together.
Was it genuine, or is Natalya hiding how she truly feels?

Intercontinental Champion The Miz def. Dolph Ziggler (Ladder Match)

DALLAS – In the same building he began his fifth reign as Intercontinental Champion the night after WrestleMania 32, The Miz extended reign No. 6 at WWE TLC by scaling the heights and defeating Dolph Ziggler in a steel-bending Ladder Match.

The American Airlines Center crowd was solidly behind The Showoff, who boldly risked his career to claim The A-Lister’s title at No Mercy back in October, but The Miz gleefully silenced the hopeful masses.

After wrapping Ziggler’s left leg around a ladder and wrenching The Showoff’s knee against the unforgiving steel, The Miz continued to punish the injured appendage, rendering Ziggler nearly incapable of making the fateful climb up the ladder and within reaching distance of the title.

Incapacitated after a modified Figure-Four Leglock through the ladder and unable to execute one of his patented superkicks on his egotistical foe, Ziggler fell victim to a Skull-Crushing Finale onto the ladder.

The Showoff was briefly able to rally, leaving Miz dangling above the ring before sending him crashing to the canvas, but a subsequent slingshot powerbomb halted any momentum the challenger might have had.

Ultimately, both battered Superstars found themselves exchanging punishing punches while standing atop two ladders set up in the middle of the ring.

In the end, though, it was just two strikes – low blows, in fact – that dropped Ziggler and allowed Miz to grab his title.

Having failed to capture the Intercontinental Championship at WWE TLC, Ziggler is unable to challenge The A-Lister for the prestigious workhorse title again.

As for The Miz, he spitefully dedicated his WWE TLC victory to SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan, who proclaimed in the WWE TLC Kickoff that The Showoff would be a better Team Blue representative as Intercontinental Champion than its current bearer.

Regardless, The Miz remains defiant as his Neverending Intercontinental Championship Reunion Tour rolls on.

Baron Corbin def. Kalisto (Chairs Match)

DALLAS — Kalisto may have hoped that his Chairs Match with Baron Corbin would play out like the biblical showdown between David and Goliath.
However, at WWE TLC 2016, the monstrous Lone Wolf left Kalisto laid out in a pile of mangled steel.

The Lucha Dragon was furious before the bell even rang. He grabbed any steel chair within reach and tossed it into the ring, finally taking one for himself and readying for Corbin’s arrival.

Despite Kalisto’s early barrage of high-flying offense, The Lone Wolf got a hold of the luchador and hurled him into a pile of chairs at ringside.

Corbin propped up a steel chair between the top and middle ropes, but would soon taste the steel himself, when Kalisto launched him into it.

The Lone Wolf also took the time to arrange six chairs to inflict maximum punishment, but may have regretted that decision after Kalisto sent him crashing through the chairs with a seated senton.

Kalisto’s fortunes turned for the worse when he took flight toward Corbin at ringside.
The monstrous Corbin caught the masked marvel and planted him into the arena floor with the Deep Six. Still, Kalisto had enough energy left to dart out of the way of a chair-wielding Lone Wolf.

The Lucha Dragon threw everything he had at Corbin, including a moonsaulting double knee drop onto a chair draped across his rival’s midsection.
Yet The Lone Wolf would not stay down.

Grabbing another chair, the luchador unloaded on Corbin, and the sound of steel colliding with bone echoed through the American Airlines Center.
However, when Kalisto dove off the ropes to try and end the bout once and for all, Corbin was waiting.

The Lone Wolf swatted Kalisto out of the air with a chair, then planted the masked man face-first into a pile of steel chairs with End of Days to get the victory.

After the bell, a rage-fueled Corbin made it clear that the same fate awaited anyone who steps in his path.
“It will be their end of days,” The Lone Wolf roared.

Alexa Bliss def. SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch (Tables Match)

DALLAS – “The Wicked Witch of WWE” didn’t need a broomstick to soar to the top of SmackDown’s Women’s division — just a well-placed table outside the ring.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch aggressively went after disrespectful Alexa Bliss in the early goings of the match, looking to end things quick by driving the small-but-fierce challenger through a table at ringside.

Alexa turned things around, however, when she actually sunk her teeth into Lynch’s hand, proving once again that there’s nothing she won’t do to unseat the fan-favorite Irish Lass Kicker as Team Blue’s female standard-bearer.

That savage streak was on full display during the chaotic final moments of the match, when Bliss powerbombed Lynch through the table at ringside to ensnare the SmackDown Women’s Championship, becoming the second Superstar to hold Team Blue’s prestigious Women’s prize.

Although the conclusion of her last championship encounter with The Irish Lass Kicker – a match seen on SmackDown LIVE in Glasgow last month – was shrouded in controversy, Bliss was unquestionably the better woman at WWE TLC.

Visibly shaken after the match, Lynch expressed extreme disappointment in its outcome, leaving many to question what her next move will be, or if her signature #straightfire will burn as intensely as it once did.

WWE World Champion AJ Styles def. Dean Ambrose (Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match)

DALLAS — Any man with two hands has a fighting chance.
Those two hands can also change the fate of the WWE World Championship, as James Ellsworth proved in the main event of WWE TLC.

Shockingly, the unlikeliest SmackDown LIVE Superstar cost Dean Ambrose the prestigious prize, knocking The Lunatic Fringe off a ladder and ensuring that AJ Styles retained the title.

Styles and Ambrose charged each other as soon as the bell rang, with The Lunatic Fringe getting the upper hand.

The Phenomenal One was the first to set up a ladder and climb toward the title hanging from the American Airline Center’s rafters, and also the first to feel the ladder’s unforgiving bite, as Ambrose shoved it into Styles’ face.

The challenger inflicted punishment on Styles all around the arena until the champion bought himself a breather, catching Ambrose with a dropkick as he jumped off the ringside barricade.

Their battle turned even more brutal from there, as the dangerous implements that give the TLC Match its name came into play.

Ambrose launched a ladder into Styles at ringside, only for the WWE World Champion to rebound and batter him with a steel chair.

The Face that Runs the Place was driven through a pile of chairs, but responded by suplexing his challenger through a table.

The brawl spilled back out to the arena floor, where a crazed Ambrose cleared off the announcers’ tables, stacked a ladder on top of one, then recklessly dove off and elbow-dropped Styles through the other.

The ringside area was a mangled mess of wreckage, with twisted steel and splintered wood littering the arena.
the debris only continued to mount after Styles put Ambrose through a table with a breathtaking 450 Splash from the top rope.

Styles looked to have the WWE World Championship in his grasp when James Ellsworth made his way to ringside.
The champion sought to cut the unlikely Superstar off and Styles Clash him on the arena floor, but Ambrose saved him, instead sending The Phenomenal One into the steel stairs with Dirty Deeds.

Both Superstars got back into the ring, scaling another ladder toward the WWE World Title.
Ambrose knocked Styles off the ladder and looked like he was about to start his second reign as champion, until his ally did the unthinkable.

Ellsworth got into the ring and shoved the ladder over, sending Ambrose crashing through a set of tables at ringside.
As the WWE Universe stood in shock, Styles scrambled up the ladder and retrieved the WWE World Championship, ensuring he would remain The Face that Runs the Place.

Ellsworth, still wearing a neckbrace as a result of Styles’ attack this past Tuesday, jumped for joy as The Phenomenal One celebrated his victory.

He now has a WWE World Championship Match with Styles coming his way this Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE, but at what cost has James Ellsworth ensured that?
